It's fitting that my last entry - almost one year ago - concerned progress in potty-training . . . and indeed, it is recent developments in that very same endeavor that compelled me to revive this blog.
Potty-training is a right of passage often completely forgotten by the child, but one that slowly becomes seared into the memory of the parent with the passage of time. In our case, victory has been claimed nearly 18 months after the experiment began. The impact of this breakthrough cannot be overstated . . .
I'll spare you the gruesome details, but a rough timeline:
- Vincent was first to go #2 in the appropriate place a few months ago, with Adrian a close 2nd
- They began to attend daycare without a diaper a few weeks ago, with only a few "accidents" since
- Now they're peeing standing up!
