Since the weather's improved, we've been taking the boys outside at every opportunity. Obviously, they love exploring in the woods. Vincent is more of an explorer, whereas Adrian will sit and move leaves with a stick for hours.
Elisa got them some sippy cups with built-in straws, and wouldn't you know it, they both were slurping it up the same day! We were impressed, because it took them weeks to figure out that they needed to invert the older sippy cups. They learned too well, because we caught them hoisting cans of diet Coke like they see their Mommy doing.
Discipline is tough, but we've made decent progress on the "hand-it-over" command. Adrian is more compliant than his brother, but with the right tone of voice, Vincent will cooperate . . . when he wants to. Adrian goes one step further, and if he finds a small, strange object in his play space, he'll bring it over and offer it up.
Vinny and Adrian express stranger-anxiety in different ways; especially tall, older, male strangers. Vincent may approach out of curiosity, or he may wonder off, completely ambivalent. But Adrian occasionally has a very strong reaction to strangers, and such was the case in the park over the weekend. He seemed to be having fun with a pair of sisters that they attracted, but when their Dad showed up, he freaked out, and ran screaming to Elisa.
