Motor Skills

The boys are developing their eye-hand coordination rapidly. A few weeks ago, they would carefully consider grabbing objects, but now their arms are constantly outstretched, reaching for anything within their grasp. This is behavior brings more excitement, but also more danger, as often the object within reach is not a toy, for example, silverware, electrical wires, etc.

They still aren't crawling, but they are up on their hands and feet quite a bit, and they're not afraid to lunge forward and bellyflop or just faceplant. I saw Vinny moving his knees in an alternate manner that could lead to crawling, but he hasn't figured out how to move is hands in the same way, so for now we he seems content lunging forward a few inches at a time, though he still manages to cover quite a bit of ground quickly.

This week brought the first day where we had to leave the boys alone with a sitter, and despite all our anxiety, it worked out just fine. Now we just need to figure out how we'll manage to pay for daycare.
